Where in the world is Brad?

This city's name is a metonym for the industry it is known for.

Cookies!

I was in the baking mood today (a rarity), I wanted to make Halloween cookies. These are my cookies:
Chris decided to take over the sprinkling job, and these are his psychedelic creations, notice the rubik's cube cookie.

Random Photos

Sydney going for a swim and when she returned she was greeted by her "team".

After church Dixie got a hold of this ball and she would not let it go.

Dixie got into something very smelly, so Brad took it into his own hands to get her cleaner.

And believe it, Dixie actually enjoyed the flight.

Where in the world is Brad

Brad is off again, can you guess where he is?
Hint: This city is the home of the world's smallest park.

Can you guess where Brad is?

Brad has been home for 2 weeks so it's only fair that he is somewhere this week (and he is not there for a week he flew there yesterday morning and comes back tonight), can you guess where he is? (No there is no prize if you get it right).
Hint: A famous tea party took place here.

I've Been Tagged

I actually like it when people are tagged, I love learning unusual things about people, so here it goes:

5 Joys
1. My family
2. Watching TV and sitting on the couch through the commercials (Brad feels commercials are for the sole purpose to get things done and cleaned up around the house between your favorite TV programs and so because he is working through them I feel obligated.)
3. A good laugh
4. Traveling and experiences new places
5. Weekends

5 Fears
1. Snakes
2. Our house catches on fire and our dogs are trapped inside.
3. Someone in my family is either hurt, injured, killed or other terrible things happen to them.
4. Scary movies/stories (especially ghost)/books
5. Being kidnapped or I guess adultnapped now.

5 Obsessions
1. The Office
2. Lysol - Brad says I'm the most illogical germophobe he has ever met. I randomly spray Lysol at home and at work, in fact my OCD boss (of all people) asked me if I have a condition, then he tried to comfort me by saying a lot of people have those kinds of illnesses!
3. My dogs must be bathed weekly, I hate them smelling like (and heaven forbid this from happening) like DOGS!
4. The Internet
5. Downeast basics undershirts

5 Surprising Facts
1. I love to rock out - the whole deal, head banging, air guitaring - ask Brad he has caught me doing it, truly embarrassing.
2. I was not a dog lover until I met Sydney
3. Sydney has 5 names and 1 title: Sydney Jackson Mezz Muggless Wigglesworth Ph.d. - and they accumulated through the years. Bytheway, her Ph.d. is in wood.
4. As a senior in high school I debated in degrees of education or marine biology (I wanted to be a whale trainer) I was torn. And when I was 18 I did a program in Sea World where I got to work with the animal trainers for a day to see what it would be like (which is how Sydney got the 2nd name of Jackson - I had a picture of one of the seals I worked with and I had told Brad I think Syd looked like him, their eyes were both almond shaped, and his name was Jackson.)
5. I hate Tuesdays, I think Tuesday is the worst day of the week.

I hate picking people to tag, so everyone is tagged.

Picasso to Monet

So last night I talked Brad into going with me to an art exhibit at the University of Utah that I had been wanting to go to all summer but finally had a chance to get to (on the last night of it of couse). As soon as I saw the name Monet, I knew I wanted to go. It was an exhibit from the Cleveland Museum. It featured artists such (of course) Monet, Picasso, Dali, Rembrandt, Matisse, and others. It was a nice cultured date. Here are some of my favorite (most were not on display on the exhibit).

Monet:

Dali: (I always wanted to know what his dreams were of hmmm...)

What Happened to Talent?

Okay, so I'll admit it I watched MTV's VMA awards last Sunday, and I was thoroughly disappointed. What happened to the music industry? When did musicians stop being musicians? Honestly, how can you call yourself a singer and lack the ability to sing!?!

Rihanna- My biggest disappointment. I thought Rihanna could sing, I love her music, until I saw her performance. Yes, the performance was fantastic, the singing however, was NOT.

Although, this does bring new inspiration to all those girls out there that can't sing, don't worry girls you can still win Grammies even though you have a crummy singing voice, you just need an awesome sound board.

(Sorry for the venting).

Logging

This week I'm blogging about logging. We went to get firewood for Brad's parents on Saturday, in deed a new experience for me.
Here is Brad showing you how NOT to use a chain saw.
When I told my dad I went logging he said, and I quote, "Wow, Julie with a chain saw now that's scary". And he had every reason to fear, I'm probably the clumsiest person he knows.
Our camera's battery died, because Chris decided to take pictures of things like this...
And this...
