Boeuf Bourguignon (Julie Style)

I was craving french food so I attempted to make Julia Child's recipe boeuf bourguignon, and except for small changes (not purposely) I actually did it!

And the results: Delicious!

I'm not a big fan of beef recipes but this was superb. The original recipe called for bacon rind, but I called every butcher in a 60 miles radius and I couldn't find it anywhere, so I did without it. Second, I didn't realize you were just suppose to brown the beef I cooked it, so I only cooked the stew for 2 hours instead of the 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Bon appétit!

  1. Looks so good. I had this on an Airfrance flight, and it was awesome. Those Frenchies know how to do food justice - even airplane food, apparently. I may have to dig out Eric's Julia Child cookbook and give this a go.
